Thor opened up this weekend, and can I say; "Awesome, Action-packed, charismatic, makes you wish you had a Thor of your own movie".

The movie is about a king who has two sons Loki, and Thor. Loki played by Tom Hiddleston and thor played by Chris Hemsworth. Thor is choose to become the new king. He is about to switch his reign to them so they may keep their kingdom safe from the ice kings who will ultimately freeze their kingdom and kill our their innocent citizens. Thor is chosen to take charge but is ousted from his kingdom after some selfish and childish decisions made during the first 5minutes of the film. This is how he ultimately gets to earth and meets his three friends who are played by Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings, and Stellan Skarsgård.

Chris Hemsworth is great in the movie, he's funny and charming and is very believable in his character. If your just running into this face for the first time, you may have noticed him from some of his recent work on Stars Trek, and a Perfect Getaway. Australian fans already know him from his soap opera days on the short lived "Home and Away". He is also brothers of "The Last Songs", Liam Hemsworth.

I though they chose the right person playing this role, and it was amazing to see his transformation from a lanky actor to this incredible man of steel so to speak. He had to gain 20 pounds to make this role believe able, and was said to have been eating more than he wanted to, almost being force fed the food to keep the protein coming into his body that was building muscle. He has now lost 15 pounds and is said to look back to normal. He could easily transform his body to playing another superhero if he so chose. Which I think he did because he was shooting the new film "The Avengers", right after his role for Thor. Needless to say he made me fall in love with THOR. (he has gained a new fan) I fell in love with his demenor in the film and how the character presented himself.

And his chemistry with Natalie was so visible and electrifying. They held their chemistry to the very end, and the movie wasn't about them falling in love either it was truly on the storyline of him saving his kingdom. I loved on this was just an added bonus you got watch as the story unfolded. There were alot of funny parts and it was odd to see this in an action style film. I would recommend this to every comic book fan, and every action fan. The movie is not Fast and the furious if your looking into a typical "dude movie". It's more than that, its an action packed sci-fi comedic drama love story.

Critics choice: B+ .... MUST SEE!

TV Night Done Right

Wow, wow, wow. It was TV overload for sure on all leading ("leading"-- you'll understand soon) networks on Tuesday. NBC, ABC, and FOX went guns-a-blazing with all your guilty pleasures. In a world of HULU and TiVo all networks are winners but there are some shows you want to watch first in that exact moment. I never experienced a tug-of-war with television in my life before.

After watching all contenders I do have to say, I picked the wrong one :(.

Oh Glee. I should have known better. I have been having a love/hate relationship with you lately and although you do fulfill some aspects you're not completely satisfying anymore. I was going to go into my whole Edward Cullen reference with a vampire and tofu analogy but too lazy to research full wording. (If you're a dork like me, you knew what I was talking about.)

Anyway, who was I kidding? I knew I wasn't going to like this episode from the get-go. Please no more Gaga-inspired episodes. She is not Mother Teresa. She was exciting the beginning but now I'm so over her. She is not the answer to anything and there is no "Gaga" curriculum. And please don't encourage you're students to wear meat dresses...e coli, pink eye, I don't know what else you can get from that but it's a waste of time.

I could go on and on about the whole Gaga thing because I feel like there are other great songs and more things Glee should be doing. I think the show should be called Gleega. Everything Gaga and cliche= Glee.

So many wrong things about this episode. However there are some good. Let's go: (New Plus and Minus system)

+ Rachel's Marcia Brady moment. But seriously Finn didn't hit her that hard.

- What is McKinely's fine arts department budget? (Seriously?! In time when fine arts are being pulled out of this school these Glee kids have budget to boot! A full on orchestra ready at the command of Mr. Schue or Rachel Berry. It's crazy! I need to teach there. Ohio is where the money is, apparently).
+ Lauren and Puck. I'm really routing for these two! They are so cute. Puck: "My permanent record has three volumes."
- The Warblers. Dalton Academy bugs me. They are like the Stepford Wives of an all boys school. However, I'm sad to see them all go but now we're stuck with Blaine. Warblers! Come back! Leave Blaine at Dalton!
+ Quinn. I really do enjoy the character. She's not that bad after all. I didn't think that the whole Lucy Caboosey story line was necessary but it showed that Quinn wasn't one dimensional. Bravo Dianna Argon!
- Flash mob. Flash mob's are cool. Flash mob's that repeat the name Barbara Streisand over and over and
over again are pointless and horrific!
+ Sam. More Sam please. I love his horrible impersonations. I think Sam and Mercedes should get together. Both of them need love! Could you imagine their babies??

+++ I do have to commend the writers of Glee about Emma's story line this week. I think it was an informative approach the mental illness and it was done tastefully. ++++

- In all, I had really negative feelings about this episode. I'm not going to talk about some agenda but I think their approach of being "Born this way" was wrong and too much. For example, the t-shirts just ruined it. Yes, I went to the shirts, I am that literal. Some things you're not "Born this way". Brittany wasn't born "Stoopid", Puck's man love wasn't Stupid either and Artie didn't appear out of his mother's womb with glasses. I know I didn't; I sat too close to the television (It's true kiddos). I just think this was a just campy way to sing a song that is already campy and pointless anyways. Gaga doesn't work all the time. And she didn't last night and it really didn't have to be 90 minutes long.

I think if Glee went this route, which they were trying to do, it would have been so much better.

What I should have watched:

The Voice!

I read on Vulture that so many people switched over from Glee to this show. I didn't get the memo. I am now kicking myself for it.

I was kinda skeptical because with the way American Idol is just kicking a dead horse when it's down, it's the last music reality show that I needed. I mean Carson Daly (CARSON DALY-TRL-MTV PIONEER- CARSON DALY) is the host. If you grew up in MTV golden years you would know what that means. The man is a great host. That should have just won it over for me but it felt like too much. It seems a little bit too much of X-Factor/American Idol/ America's Got Talent for me... but I was WRONG.

Yes there is that formula but there is one specific factor in it. The coaches (not judges), coaches are good. We have CeeLo, X-tina, and Adam Levine. They are KNOWN for their talent, not their gimmicks, although some may have failed them in the past (Christina) but their voice can stand alone and sets them apart from everyone else.

For those of you who missed. It's really good and I think you would like it. Here's the gist from the first night episode:

Concept:

For coaches (Xtina, Levine, CeeLo and Blake Shelton) first pick 8 contestants to be on their team from a blind audition. The coaches have their backs to the singers and if they like what they hear they hit a button, the bottom of their chair lights up "I Want You" and their Dr. Evil chair swivels around. If two or more coaches want to work with the contestant, the contestant themselves gets to choose. How amazing is that?! I mean you have to be amazing first of all to get the attention of those artist. But to PICK. Craziness.

And then they build their super team, have a dog fight (not literally PETA) and then someone wins money and contract. Blah. Blah. Blah. But good! I say check it out and hopefully Idol will go away.

Dunkleman

I mean America (yes, US) should take a few notes from the Brits. They stopped Pop Idol (Idol's mommy) years ago. I'm pretty sure those presenters went over to X-Factor or Britain's Got Talent or something. I mean, who are you going to have host US X-Factor? Brian Dunkleman? No one knows who that is! If you are looking for him, he's in Ryan Seacrest imagination, next to Snuffleupagus. (Meaning I have a bit of Brain Dunkleman in my imagination too because I know who Snuffy is).

Well give The Voice a chance.

A lot of people did. 15 million viewers you guys! Beating out Dancing with the Stars, Glee and Idol. Hooray! See NBC?! You can still do it. Just don't let Jay Leno do anything else because he already had a part in one of my favorite shows death: Heroes. Yes Leno killed Heroes. Stupid 10 o'clock show....

Ending the night:

It was guilty pleasure night on Dancing with the Stars. I don't know what that means but there was a mega boyband and Hanson.

I love the Backstreet Boys, I love New Kids on the Block, I don't know how I feel about a mega BOYBAND but my inner teeny bopper will take it. I saw NKOTB two summers ago and I still screamed my head off.

I think I will be hearing a lot of backlash from the other half of this blog, but don't you think that the Backstreet Boys should have taken some real time off? Like the New Kids? Just a suggestion... (PAULA).

So anyways back to their performances. I don't care so much for the mega boyband song but hooray for the oldies. Did you see Marky Mark's brother get down? I guess he will be a front runner for next year's cast.

However, Hanson had the best performance of the night. They have always been fun. I was totally jamming out to "MmmBop".

Lastly, who is this Pia girl? She didn't win Idol right? So why is she all over the place like she did? I mean, she's no J-Hud, Clay Aiken, or that kid. I didn't know that you could just go on to another network like that. Isn't there a contract? I mean Dancing with the Stars and American Idol are competition. It's like the guy who owns Pepsi having his house stocked up on Coca-Cola. Does anyone else see this madness???

Anyways, it was long post. If you made it through the whole thing, you clearly have nothing else to do and we should be best friends :)

What I Watched on Tv Last Night: Vampire Diaries Returns

Hooray! The Vampire Diaries returned from a ridiculously long hiatus last night. It felt like MONTHS. I still don't understand these long hiatuses. I mean you can't just leave people waiting like that forever. You know!

So after returning from such a long time I was thinking that we would get down to the nitty-gritty, right? Does anyone else fell short changed? There were really surprising moments and good looking moments (any moment with Mr. Somerhalder shirtless is a win for an episode). But I felt there was a whole lot of nothing going on. I looked up at the time when I watching it and there was only like 15 minutes left and I was like I have nothing! Well I guess until the end... You know, the Klaus thing. Which can someone please explain to me.

So here are some low and highlights:

Low

Bonnie and Jeremy. It's cute and all but really boring. Yes, Bonnie enters a house, they lock Damon out, Jeremy stands there all confused (me too Jeremy), tons of whispering, some crying and then she goes all X-men Storm. Yawn. I don't get this whole Vampire-Werewolf-Witch formula. I didn't really like it so much on Buffy and not looking forward to it on True Blood. They should bring a gypsy into the mix like they did on Buffy. That would be cool.... or Zombies.....aliens...

Tyler. Where is he? When is he returning? I miss him. His story line begins to rock and then he's sent away. People die and leave too quickly on this show. Come back Tyler, but this time not with Jules. I don't get her plan and I don't want to know it too.

Moonstone. Whose genius idea was to leave the moonstone in the soap dish? Just saying.

Highlights

Isobel. It was random and unexpected but it was great addition to the show. Like I said people die to quickly on the show but Isobel's death had some meaning behind it (in comparisons to Uncle Mason--- too quick!) It was sad though. Poor Elena.

Elena and John. That was a touching moment at the end with her accepting him into her life. It is true she doesn't have any parents. Which brings me to a wonderful discussion I had with some friends. Vampires are distracting. I mean when is the last time Elena went to school or Sookie had a full work week. Paula said it's because of bad parenting which definitely Elena is a product of, won't you agree? My other friend said that Buffy was distracted too but the thing is that was a part of Buffy's job description: "In every generation there is a chosen one. She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer." I digress...

Damon and Stefan. Brotherly love. It's rare especially between those two but it's sweet when it happens. The only thing that would have made the moment better if they did a happy dance. I do happy dance when I know something awesome that no one else knows. Especially if my life depended on it. And face it we all miss Damon's dancing.

Klaus. I don't know where to put this in the high or low lights section because I'm just confused. So Paul Wesley joined Twitter and then is following this guy who is "playing" Klaus but Matt Davis (Alaric) is Klaus. WHAT IS GOING ON!?!?!?!?! Like I get it, Isobel kidnapped Ric and sent him somewhere, I guess to be Klaus but when are we going to see the actor dude playing Klaus. No offense, I think Matt Davis is a wonderful actor and I enjoyed his accent (very Dracula) but nothing good is going to come of that. I don't think you can embody an Original and then live to tell about it. I think Ric is going to die and this makes me sad.

Things I would like to see:

Tyler. Bring him back already! I liked the Caroline and Tyler relationship. Matt cries too much. Oh by the way, poor Matt. He really suffers from bad parenting. He's practically and orphan. How can support himself busing tables at the grill. Poor guy. But still bring back Tyler minus the Jules. She makes werewolves not fun.

Damon find love. What happened to his girlfriend? I think it's time for Damon and Elena to get together now. I do enjoy his misery over it though. Ian does great existential acting. ("Who am I? What am I?")

Katherine... die. I'm over the parent trap game. Or get Katherine to get with Stefan and bring Elena and Damon closer together.

Joseph Morgan

And Klaus. I want to see the real Klaus show up. I hope it's not through flashbacks because I think that if that's true, Ric is gone, gone, gone.

Movies to skip: Sucker Punch

"You'll be unprepared."- You're absolutely right!

Sucker Punch

I feel like I am a sucker who got punched into seeing it. What went wrong? What was possibly right? I was a bit intrigued from the trailer. The intriguing parts was because I'm a girl (I liked their hair and their makeup), other than that it was a Zack Snyder movie and the music seemed really cool. My feelings still stand for what I liked about the movie after seeing it; the music and hair win.

If I was a fan boy/girl I would be in total nirvana because it looks completely like a comic book, but even I know comic books are suppose to make sense or at least be interesting. I'm a smart chick, I understood the "story" they were trying to tell but it just seemed so choppy and blah.

The story in a nutshell:

Babydoll is wrongfully accused and sent to a nuthouse. There she tries to escape by escaping into two (not one but two alternate realities). Reality one is the nuthouse but it's run like a burlesque club. When Babydoll starts to dance she goes into this other alternate reality and she begins her epic fight for freedom (that's when all the action really happens).

My friend said the perfect quote for this movie "It's like Inception for dummies". (I edited their quote. We don't use the "R" word around here.)

Nays about the film:

The Dancing. The thing is that you never see Babydoll dance. She just closes her eyes and goes into Ninja sexy school girl mode battling robots, dragons and weird looking samurais. I don't think I would be interested to see her dance anyways. I wonder if I close my eyes I would be able to kick some butt. Hmm...

The point. Lacking one.

Acting. Vanessa Hudgens said recently which is everywhere, that her ex-beau, Zac Efron should go see the movie... he's seen High School Musical trilogy before, he has some sort of an idea.

Yays about the film:

Oscar Issac

Oscar Issac. He played Blue (also Joseph in The Nativity Story) the evil orderly/ nightclub owner. I think the mustache and the flashy suit made him look super evil. He's the only person who stood out in the film. He did a wonderful job, I mean he played Joseph! He could make anything look good. He's definitely a person to watch.

Music. Zack Synder definitely comes from the Quentitn Tarintino school of putting great music in film. The music definitely fit the action sequences. One thing that didn't fit the movie was the bit at the end but that's something you will just have to see for yourself.

Hair and Makeup. I feel like I was in a Christina Aguleria video or watching Burlesque 2. Either way it worked. But question: How come girls who kick butt always have to have their hair and makeup made up. I would like to see a "normal" superhero or female action star without the hair, makeup and outfit. I feel like I started some epic fan boy/ feminist debate...

Selling point

If you look to see pretty girls fight in a Zack Synder (music video) movie then Sucker Punch is for you to go spend your $10 in the theater. If not, you can wait to watch it on Netflix (watch instantly) or just skip it entirely.

Being Human vs. Being Human: The English do it better!

Back in January while on You Tube, I was completely bombarded with advertisement for a new show on the SyFy channel, Being Human. The show definitely had its selling points: a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost live together in an apartment. I'm sold. So after seeing the trailer and having the advertisements all up in my face I checked out Wikipedia to learn more about it. Wait a second, it's already a show? A current show? And it's British! SOLD!

After literally spending a close to a whole month catching up on the original BBC series I was in love and there was nothing else that mattered. Where have you been all my life Being Human? Where has Bristol, England been all my life? And Aidan Turner? More importantly where has British television been all my life? Being Human has started this revolution in me to pick up and move to England. I will forever be grateful.

I immediately fell in love with the show. It's Buffy meets Friends but in the UK. What I loved most about it is that it is so un-Americanized. I mean yes, we still have a hairy vampire and a hairless werewolf but our vamp is scruffy and Irish. Hot. And I don't know about you but I enjoy a werewolf that cries at a drop of a hat. You go George! The English just make the concept easier to grasp. Yes, it's a very good looking cast of actors but they are not overly beefed or sexed up. They're human.

I know there's a lot of people who are enjoying the American version. I'm not hating on it but I just can't get into it. After watching the entire first season and then into the second season when the SyFy version premiered I lost my interest. It was basically the same story. It's a great story but I just watched that story. It's hard to watch a remake of something when you just literally watched it. Especially with the same lines. I'm sure fan boys will go completely bonkers if Andrew Garfield starts spewing out Tobey McGuire lines in the new Spider-man. (I can hear the future whining now.)

I just think that the BBC series is organic in comparisons to the American version. It's a watered down version. I may be completely wrong. Maybe they will go in a different direction. After all, each series (seasons) of the BBC version ranged from 6-8 episodes and American TV shows usually range from 12- in the 20s. If they are following the UK series exactly they are going to run out of story soon and would have to make some stuff up, right?

So for those of you who have never seen Being Human (any version), I say check out the English version. That goes for those who have only seen the American version as well. However both versions are not going anywhere. Both have been picked up BBC series for series (season 4) and SyFy series for season 2.

Movies to watch: Red Riding Hood

Red Riding Hood

Catherine "Mother of Twilight" Hardwicke gives you a spin of the classic tale that you would have never imagined. Yes, to me the movie does scream TWILIGHT but it does have the credibility to stand on it's own. One good reason: better leading actors (Amanda Seyfried and a ten times better Edward Cullen; Shiloh Fernandez). Nonetheless, it's a well known story that's been around for centuries which definitely makes it appealing across the masses.

What I liked about the film:

Visually striking. Unlike Twilight, Hardwicke decided to go with beautiful wintry scene. Was anyone else scared that someone was going to their eye poked out by those pointy trees? Very dangerous.

The red hood.That was so beautiful when it was blowing in the wind. I have to say Ms. Seyfried really knows how to rock the hood. It was an entity of itself.

Shiloh Fernandez. I am so intrigued by him. What I am about to say may sound like a back handed compliment but it's awesome coming from me since I love both actors. But he's like a Zac Efron and James Dean rolled into one. Yes, he's a mysterious good looking man. I think he would have made a better Edward Cullen. Yes, I don't think you could do anything else to improve Twilight but Shiloh is not socially awkward. He can hold himself together when asked simple questions. Team Shiloh.

Billy Burke. Charlie Swan, you know Bella's dad. I'm sure this mad has had a wonderful career and would rather not be called Bella's dad, but he is. I must say that he looks better with the mustache. It makes him look hot. No difference between Bella's dad and Red's (Valerie's Dad). They both drink. However Val's dad is missing the "R" beer can. (Does that stand for Red? Trivia question: what does that R stand for on the beer can? I don't know but I know someone does. If you do, I will give you a high-five!)

Grandma, what big _______ you have? Thank you. I would have been highly disappointed if that line was not in the film. I would have asked for a refund and then e-mail Summit. It worked really well in the movie.

A cross-dressing wolf. Another reason I would have been disappointed if that was missing as well. That's the whole point of the story!

Twist. The movie does have a little twist. Which I will not say but it did make it interesting. You think you know from the trailers but you have no idea. It's great not having a clue.

What I didn't understand about the movie:

What century are we in. The movie is definitely a period piece. What period does it take place in, I haven't the slightest clue. At first they are talking about kingdoms and then they are bumping and grinding at a party. It felt a little like the Jersey Shore for a second:

First thing you see, Red is really into the woodcutter and they want to smush. Then her family is like "No, you gots to get with the wealthy kid" and then all of a sudden "cabs are here" and they're at Karma. And Red sees the woodcutter creeping on some grenade. Then red was like "OK you do you, I'll do me." And then the woodcutter goes and chops up her house because it's made of wood. And then Red has to leave and goes to her Grandma's house and then she comes back and it's an awkward reunion show. Red Riding Hood Jersey Shore Style.

That's like the only thing I didn't like about the movie. In fairness, it was a good film. I brought a long a friend with me who definitely didn't want to see it and she ended up loving it. It's not Twilight. It has more violence and it's a lot sexier. So no need to be embarrassed, it's been out for sometime so your boyfriend doesn't have to worry about anyone seeing them in there. Or you can wait for the DVD. Anyways, it's a must see.

Pretty Little Liars: Season Finale

Sorry for the long awaited Pretty Little Liars season finale post. I'm still mourning over the fact I have nothing to watch on Monday nights. Is it me, but it seems like it's been forever with these hiatuses. It's been MONTHS since a new Vampire Diaries (just saying, but this is about Pretty Little Liars).

So the season finale didn't disappoint, they (the powers that be over at PLL) still left us all confused towards the end with 10 million more questions to be answered. It feels like it's a endless can of worms. Which in a way is good but might be super annoying to people who read the series and those who read about the series on Wikipedia (i.e.- ME).

Here are some of my questions/ concerns from the finale:

1. Garrett and Jenna

- Um. Did anyone see that coming? So in my extensive research from wikipedia, Garrett was not mentioned in the books. Or maybe he was but he wasn't a major character. The point is, I don't understand that relationship or the point of it. I guess it would have to be answered when the series returns.

2. Ian

3. Spencer's sister's baby bump.

- I don't think Spencer's sister is really pregnant. I'm just totally against the whole thing. Especially if she lied about going to Georgia in front of the pastor's wife. That baby bump happened so fast like Mr. Schue's wife's hysterical pregnancy. (Glee season 1).

4. Ezra and Aria.

- I think this is the end. Which I am happy for because the world's most boring couple definitely goes to those two. I mean it wasn't that scandalous if you look back at the history of teacher/student relationships on teen angst dramas. The number one teacher/student relationships goes to Pacey Witter and his English teacher Tamara Jacobs (that's Dawson's Creek circa 1998)

So I can honestly say I enjoyed PLL. I hope it returns quickly because I REFUSE to watch The Secret Life of the American Teenager (they talk to much on that show, way too much talking).

Take Me Home Tonight

I was suckered into these movies, with nonetheless great songs that made me wanna jump out of my chair and rock out with my 80s swing and be left with the hollow feeling of emptiness after subjecting myself to an 1hour and 45 minute suck fest.. This movie, I thought could have been better, it had a good cast comedic wise, but the story just ran to short. A guy (Topher Grace) decides he wants to tell his High school crush played by none else than Number6 (Teresa Palmer) (Great movie btw, watch I AM NUMBER4). They meet at this party and the story follows his sister who is played by Anna Faris and best friend Dan Fogler through the party as obstacles arise and how they realize maybe, "One I need a better life", "My life Sucks", and "I have a backbone now". That's pretty much the story in a nut shell. I was highly disappointed, I think this movie was Eh, OK if your watching TV on a Friday night and have nothing else to do, maybe you can sneak a clip on the Comedy Central Network in a year when they decide to play it on TV.

Critic choice... " WAIT.... and keep Waiting!"..

Hall Pass

Old School rival? Wedding Crashers? Nope, not even close. This movie fell short of comedy and storyline. I felt bad that I didn't laugh as much so I pretended to smile at the short blows and comedic use of an old guy thinking he can score a date or sex with a young pretty girl... This was definitely written by a man because well it doesn't happen but in fantasies played out by married men in a loveless marriage... Skip it, rent it.. and you decide if you can handle the same plot discussed over and over again. Like the one above, could have been great, but the lack of build up, comedic punch, and over-all chemistry of the two bestfriends hurt the movie. Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson this is how it always should be... Could have been great.

Critic Choice... "Wait.. rent it.

PS: IF you have children, don't watch this with them, you get a huge snag of an Irish and African American Genitalia and it's not pretty, it's pretty much 2minutes of penis observation; up close and unfortunately personal..

Movies to watch: The Adjustment Bureau

Riveting, Smart, simple, clean, and interesting!!

I loved this movie, Yes, it has two great actors but the plot was simple and to the point. The thing I loved most about this movie was the story behind the story, it's about free will. Our free will allows us to choose what obstacles and people we encounter on our day to day lives. In the story they talk about this alot how our free will is given to us but many of times certain obstacles happen such as dropping coffee on your pants on your way to work (Matt Damon's character of course experienced this mishap) and others like missing a bus, train, getting stuck in traffic.. etc.. Well when these "mishaps" happen it turns out it's "fate" steering you back on to the course you were supposed to be in.

It all ravels down to the whole, our lives are already written out for us. And with some explaining throughout the movie, these people who are not angels, or guardians, but life setters in a way follow the two main characters and make sure they stay on course.

The movie is very easy to follow, the story line is very simple. Yes, it's a romantic drama, it's not over powered by naked bodies, or gross sexual scenes that more on the lines exploit the actors than bring something to the story. Matt Damon is attractive and brings nothing less to his character as a believable politician that is trying to find the piece that he is missing to feel complete. Emily Blunt is beautiful, charming, and witty in this film. The romance between the two is very apparent and they showed great chemistry. She plays a ballerina who is torn between the life that she leads and the great achievements and success that await her for the man that she loves and feels most complete with.

At the end, it's nothing but happy endings for both characters, but the ride they take to get there, leaves you wondering what will happened in the last 3minutes of the film.

After leaving the theater you can't help but think if this could ever exist, or if it doesn't already. It seems as though sometimes we hold ourselves back and the story of the movie was to continue with your dreams, and fight for you want, no matter what obstacles may arise.

My critic choice is "Must See", don't wait for the DVD go out and be inspired.

Joe Jonas: You're breaking my heart!

Stop it Joe Jonas, you're breaking my heart and I kinda like it but I'm still on the verge of tears. Recently, Joe Jonas has announced that he is going solo (exciting!). Along with the news of going solo comes the press; I give you Joe's first solo cover and solo story from Details magazine.

Let me just say: It's not him, it's me. Great article! Love where he's heading but I'm going through some type of denial stage. My man is grown and that's something that I have to deal with. I'm not sure if I want to change for him though. Yes, it's great he's an adult, I'm adult. I talk like an adult but I can't handle him talking like an adult and him doing an adult things. I do that! But now that I type this "aloud", it sounds that I want him to say young forever and I like little boys or something. I don't. But be honest, you have a Peter Pan fantasy thing too (Wendy Darling sure did).

I mean I just thought he would stay a little fun immature boy forever. Free of profanity, drinking, and that awful Alice Cullen. I liked those qualities about him. Good wholesome fun. I know it may not be realistic but I thought it was very honorable of him. These other things I at least expected from Zac Efron, who totally sounds like he could play Channing Tatum's cousin in Step Up 4. Just sayin' but I like it.

Interesting points:

- The article does a comparison of Joe and Justin Timberlake. Travel back in time with me you loyal *N SYNC fans even JoBro fans who only heard of *N SYNC, but didn't you always think that JC Chasez would have blown up more than Justin did? I did. JC definitely had more musicality that Justin did, I think. I was surprised that his solo project didn't jump off. I hope that Nick doesn't follow in that footsteps.

- Joe is an awesome cook. He's so quick on his feet. He was making something and forgot a key ingredient for it and improvised. I totally would have gone back to the store. I do that all the time by the way. I make 50 trips to the grocery store... everyday.

- He bar hops and goes clubbing like a regular 20 something. I find that the most off putting because I don't do that anymore. I think I'm a fifty year old in a 20 something year old body. That doesn't even hold truth anymore because I'm sure there's a lot of cougars getting their Friday nights on.... probably hanging out with Joe :(.

-He really likes that Alice Cullen (barf). I'm sure she's a nice girl but I just don't like that whole cast. Their socially awkward.

- And he's totally a lady killer. He totally gets it in. Whatever that in is because there is this whole blurry line now with the purity rings. Which I think was quite honorable and no one's business. But he talks about all his relationships and stuff and I'm still on Team Joe. Taylor Swift is bitter and she goes through dudes a lot. She is Joe's equivalent: a maneater. There's nothing wrong with that just move on with your life. Own up to it.

Anyways my biggest fear in this is that Joe would turn into a Jersey Shore guy. I mean first he's at a Calvin Klien fashion show with these dudes and next they are you know at Karma creeping or something. Who knows. It's like creeping Hollywood style.

We'll Joe, I still love you no matter what. We're just going through growing pains (we'll I am). There's always Nick ( still too young but legal, but young, still).

TV: Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars is coming to an end but will we have some answers? It always feels with this show that it's one step forward and then a million steps back. What's up with that?!

This episode was okay, nothing too big revealed except for the end but it wasn't that fulfilling. Hopefully the season finales leaves us with an O.M.G moment (like Hanna getting hit by the car but then a miraculous recovery. Just. Like. That.) I just want some questions answered man. Who is A? Did Ian kill Alison? Is Jenna really blind? (Yeah, I know she is but didn't you feel so bad for her when Hanna slapped her last episode? I almost cried, that was scary!) When is Mr. Fitz going to get fired? Why is that policeman so creepy? And how did Spencer's sister get super pregnant so fast?

I love this show but sometimes I feel like they just introduce a character and get rid of them in a second. The same thing I felt with Lucas but from the promo for the season finale he's back. I didn't miss him that much. Caleb was such an improvement from Lucas and the boyfriend (whatever his name was). I feel like Caleb reminds me of Jacob Black (what Jacob Black should of been instead of awkward Taylor Lautner.It's not his fault the whole cast is awkward, he goes with the flow... the flow of awkwardness). Anyways Caleb was a really cool "bad boy". Not so bad but smart ass, yes! More Caleb please!

Another thing that I want to see is more creepy Ian. Ha ha. He's so creepy. Why doesn't the rest of Spencer's family see that? He's like EVERYWHERE! EVERYWHERE! But it's good because you know he's a rat and he's totally going to get caught for being a rat.

As for Emily... gosh is her story line annoying and boring. Emily needs to loosen up. Even when she was "drunk" as Deena Nicole puts it she was not a holiday in a glass. LOOSEN UP EMILY! And that girl Paige has issues, SHE TRIED TO DROWN YOU! Hello?! Anyone remember that? Anyone?

Anyways, let's hope that next week's season finale is promising. I want my questions answered darn it! At least one. I'm so happy I'm watching the show instead of reading the books. My friend wikipedia told me everything I wanted to know about the books and I'm kinda disappointed with the story lines.

Not that we were unhappy with Wordpress but there were some problems with it with Paula's computer (she's a Mac and I'm a PC). What I watched on TV last night: Pretty Little Liars

Well, I know who "A" is... thanks Wikipedia and my awful curiosity. I just can't believe it took like 3 books (I think) for them to reveal who the mystery person was. If I was actually reading the books, I think I would have been pissed. But then again you have a different experience when you read. Like for instance the Twilight series was somewhat exciting more so than the movies. Somewhat.

Anyways last night was interesting. Lot's of display of emotions and non-emotions and no need for emotions. I really feel bad for Lucas, poor fellow he needs a hug. However, that Noel dude is very creepy and Ezra needs to grow a pair. I think everyone on that show needs to be a little more assertive. Like Hannah should have been like "No Mona, I don't want these people in my house because we have tons of money that my mom took stashed all over the kitchen." But no, she didn't and now possibly mom is going to have drug problem just like Cindy did on the new Melrose Place (same actress and I think that show should of had another chance).

But I digress, I wonder what's going to happen. Are they going to reveal who "A" is soon? And Spencer is totally on to something, she reminds me of a Nancy Drew or Scooby-Doo. And how creepy is the Toby-stepsister thing?? Yuck. Incest is never okay. You go Toby! No means no!

I just have to give major props to the actress who plays Mya, Bianca Lawson. The chick is like 31 and still playing a teenager and she is flawless! Huge fan of her since Buffy and Capeside (Dawson's Creek). And she was Emily on The Vampire Diaries, I hope they bring her back. Actually I think she would have been a better Bonnie.... just saying.

On to next weeks episode. This is the only show I like now on ABC Family since they cancelled my beloved Lincoln Heights (no more Chassie) and I refuse... REFUSE to watch The Secret Life of the American Teenager (too much talking, waaaayyy too much talking).

By the way does the opening theme song remind you of the original Weeds theme song. Let's do a comparison...

What I watched on TV last night: Pretty Little Liars

Hooray, our favorite liars have returned! Sadly, I didn't write about this show last summer but I really enjoy it. It's like Gossip Girl meets I Know What You Did Last Summer.

With out any delay the show picks up right where it left off and still fails to leave you with that "so what just happened moment". We still have no idea who "A" is and right now it's kinda driving me nuts, but I'm intrigued. Without giving anything away, a lot of things happened, and didn't but there was a lead. Spencer now thinks that "A" is working with someone.

Here's what I think. I do concur that "A" is more than one person. I think it's that guy (the actor from "Smart House"- old school Disney), and Spencer's sister. The actress played that really crazy nanny on that one season of One Tree Hill that I watched. Or Spencer's sister's boyfriend and that Mona girl.

Or "A" is Andrea Zuckerman... Did you know that she turned 50 today? 50!

Can't wait to see how everything unfolds and folds back together again.

Hey y'all,

Since we had such a high success on last year's "Most Intense Eyebrows" competition (Mr. Ian Somerhalder won). I thought about having another go. This time it's your "Most Favorite Vampire/Human Trio". It has occurred to be that apparently vampires and humans come in THRICE. Why? I have no idea. Who made up this equation? Whoever did though, they are a genius and laughiing their way to the bank.

Our contenders are:

Bill Compton/Sookie Stackhouse/ Eric Northman

and

Stefan Salvatore/ Eleana Gilbert/ Damon Salvatore

Each trio offers pros and cons. The Bill/Sookie/Eric combo offers "things that you won't see on The CW" and forshadows of an actually relationship with our bad boy vamp (Eric + Sookie + Season Four= Thank you Alan Ball). As where our Vampire Diaries Trio teases us with the Damon and Elena story (" Wait a minute you're not Elena, you're Katherine! O.M.G!)

Each trio comes with a couple (Bill/Sookie and Stefan/Elena) where the boyfriend is a bit over protective ( possessive) and has secret issues. Bill is a total liar and Stefan is a closeted "blood addict". The bad boy vamps are gorgeous and are equally shady. However, I have to hand it to Eric, he at least gets some play. Damon, on the other hand gets rejected each time (and sadly is loosing some of his mojo. Poor Dayday, give him some love already! ). And our female leads, one can shock you with microwave hands and one gives a great pout face ( You better work that pout face Elena!)

However none of them is this male dependent hot mess...

And why you ask is this trio not in our poll???

JACOB'S NOT A VAMPIRE! And if he was a real person and I really referred to him as being a real person, he would be offended.

New Year's Eve

Greetings! Today is the last day of 2010. For some people today is all about planning to forget anything you do tonight and for others it's making changes for the new year. So it's time for those resolutions, y'all!

So I normally don't believe in resolutions really because I never made one. But this year I wrote stuff down and have it hanging on the side of my mirror taunting me every second of the day.

So one of my top priorities was to shed the pounds. Like Paula said she has a wedding dress to fit into. Thanks to Paula and three of my other friends I have a bride's maid dress, two maid of honor dresses (for the same wedding) and other dresses I would like to fit into for weddings. Thanks guys. I have four weddings to go to this year and two them I am actually in them.

I began my weight loss journey sometime last year when I join 24-hour fitness and the results are non existing because I go once in a while. Not only is it eating away at my wallet, it's also taunting me and calling me fat. But I do pledge to get back on track. I will never look like Barbie, I don't plan to. I like my curves and I am going to keep it that way but not a whole curve but curvy.

So hopefully it works out. Not only is hard to go to all those weddings but its hard to go to them a fatty! It's me vs. the list of "resolutions" and I plan to kick butt.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, blogging is hard. Like anything else, if you don't take time and have dedication to do the things you want to do or fight for the things you want, you'll become a loser with a case of the "should of could of would ofs". After watching a new movie, "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" (as in new I mean, new to me because I get into things after the fact), I became inspired. I mean although Scott got his butt handed to him by a vegan, he still stood up for what he wanted; some chick who had co-dependency issues clearly. But still, love prevails. Well we love to blog and that' what will do.

We asked Santa for a functioning blog and we'll just have to wait and see if he gives us one under our tree.

My Vote Doesn't Count: Teen Choice Awards

I've come to the harsh reality that as of tomorrow when I turn 25, my opinion no longer counts for such competitions as Choice Hottie. It is a sad, sad day. I'm not going to lie, up to a couple of years ago I was logging on the Teen Choice Awards website to vote making myself eligible . As pathetic as that sounds (which it is and I regret sharing that with the world-wide web), tonight is a worse situation: I am boycotting the award ceremony and feeling horrible about it as I type.

Why this all of a sudden sense of being an adult, you ask? Because I think it's about time. I'll be straight out, I love watching iCarly and ABC Family (Pretty Little Liars is my summer fave), but I don't have to actually participate in the communtiy.That's lame and sad. I can remain a fan and still watch those shows, but learn my limits and not participate (less lame and sad, a closeted tween).

I learned this the hard way on may occasions during the past year. First occasion (on going occasion), a tween I attend church with knows I too enjoy the Jonas Brothers. Short coming of that occasion, the stares I get from my peer group, the adults. Second occasion, during my practicum as I was giving an assessment to a 8th grader the subject of New Moon came up. The 8th grader and I shared our plans about seeing the movie. Helllloooo? Wasn't I suppose to be doing something like I don't know, work.

Not get me wrong, it's great to connect to kids and know what they are listening to and build rapport but when does it turn into you're too old to be liking what I like? It reminds me of that Knocked Up scene, where Leslie Mann and Katherine Heigl are trying to get into the club and Craig Robinson calls them out. I don't want to be Leslie Mann crying on a curb in a couple of years. That's sad. I don't want to end up being that mom. You know, that mom.

Anyways, maybe this is just a cry out for the loss of my youth. But I'll read about who wins tomorrow on MSN anyways :)

Blogging is Hard.

Like all things I start, I usually quit. This isn't the case. This is just a revival. A little signal of hope that we are still alive. The beauty of the internet is that you can just tweet, post and click and no one has to know your there. However, someone is always watching or reading. To those of you or just one of you who is, we will be back on track in due time. Life happens. Not all of us are Perez Hilton and actually made a living off of this. We work, go to school, have husbands (one of us at least) still we have lives. We are happy to share with you, but just as long as we have breathing room.

We took a couple of breathes and now its time for business.

Oh to be Gleeful again!

After at least four months, Glee returned to tv last night and all was good in the world between the hours of 9:28pm and 10:28pm. All though some parts had you questioning, for instance, why is there a piano in a library? Other parts had you seriously peeing in your pants of laughter, i.e. Brittany: " You know that dolphins are just gay sharks, right?" (I literally died of laughter, please continue to right that girl lines, she delivers each time!)

I totally enjoyed the return of Glee however, some of the musical numbers last night were a bit bland. Maybe it's because next week is the big daddy of them all episode devoted to Madonna. Today, Sue Sylvester's version of Vogue was full on circa on the net. It was so-so for me, it only got funny towards the end. I'm not really looking forward to the Madonna episode like everyone else is, what would be uber bingo is if they actually had Madonna on the show. I personally would rather see the original Material Girl then Lady Gaga as she is in talks to have her own tribute show as well.

Other great moments of the show last night was of course Idina Menzel who is Broadway royalty and that other dude from Spring Awakening. Sorry I'm not a-ga-ga over Spring Awakening, sue me. I do hope that they let Idina sing, they make Mr. Schuster sing all the time for Pete's sake!

Oh well on all seriousness and gratitude, Glee we welcome you back into our homes. What did you think of last nights episode? Did you vogue? Did you know that dolphins are just closeted sharks as well? It would be great if someone could share if they ever seen a piano in a library before?

Crying Youtube Child meets Justin Bieber and I am Jealous!

No I don't have "Bieber Fever", but I am resentful. Everyday when I was her age I use to come home from Pre-school run to my den with the hopes that Joey Joe (Joey McIntyre) from New Kids on the Block would be there. I was sadly disappointed everyday. Dreams crushed everyday until my cousin got over her obsession with them. Or I got into something else, probably Eureka's Castle ( really dating myself, aren't I?).

However, the only thing I got to compensate my unlikely dreams was a New Kids on the Block pillow case which I ruined each night when I drooled on it. I never got a concert ticket or to meet them. I ended up getting a concert ticket last summer though (best childhood dream come true ever) but I had to pay for it myself. Thanks, Mom!

My point is my mother didn't give into my obsession and give me false hopelessness and Youtube didn't exist back then. Neither did the internet. I knew Joey Joe loved me back just as Justin Bieber loved this little girl back. He still does. Our love has been like 20 years strong. Justin Bieber isn't even 20 years old! My love trumps your 3 year old love!

What becomes of this little girl now? Will she always think that Justin Bieber is so accessible? Is she set up for failure? That's the problem with kids today. Things that they love are easily accessible. You can tweet Nick Jonas and have a chatroulette session with Paris Hilton. We use to write fan mail, through the actually postal service. Yes those things that you have to walk out to your mailbox to get.

So yes, I am resentful but one day I will meet you Joey Joe. One day. All seriousness, she was adorable. I am so jealous right now.

I would be kind of upset if I was her sister. I am kind of upset right now.

Film Review: Shutter Island

One question and one question only: Why doesn't Leonardo DiCaprio have an Oscar? Seriously!

This is not much of a review because if you have read reviews of the film, you can't get really get a solid review without given something away. I thank the marketing and people who have reviewed the film for doing a great job by not doing such. And I dare not be that person.

What I can say is that I went there thinking that I was going to be scared out of my mind. I personally wasn't. But some people were. Some people thought that there was too much going on. Too much imagery. It's a movie, right? What do people want in a movie nowadays? I guess blue people and a made up language. Well any movie that knocked Avatar out of its position is my kind of movie.

I also believe that Martin Scorsese has never made a bad film, EVER. All his films are different. He is loves film, he treats it with respect. A great director and DiCaprio a great actor. A true canvas. I think this by far is one of my favorite films of his, honestly. I literally walked into the theater thinking I was going to see something and saw something else and was pleased.

So I recommend this film. If it feels slow to you in the beginning, hang in there. You're probably not use to films like those and I mean going back to the Hitchcock era. Old fashion good films. Give it a try, you will be surprised. If you're a Scorsese fan, a win. DiCaprio fan, win. Great quality movie fan, EPIC WIN.

Can we start petitioning for this man to win an Oscar already? Do they do that?

What I watched on Tv last night

No. Are you calling me a liar? Didn't I tell you I was officially done with it? So why second guess me. I am done. But its hard to go around functioning in life without hearing about it. Ryan Seacrest tweets about it non stop. By the way, he had chicken for dinner before the live show.

Although I am not watching it, I can still put my two cents into it. I just have one question and its my question I have had for a long time ever since it was announced. Why is Ellen Degeneres a judge on American Idol? No, seriously why? I'm a little bit peeved because allegedly, I say allegedly because I'm not watching and my proof of reference is from a tweet (funny how tweets are reliable sources nowadays). Ellen said that a contestant could not sing and they should be on Glee.

There are so many things wrong with that statement, I don't even know where I should begin. First, don't knock the only good show that FOX has going for them now Ellen, because the clock is ticking on Idol. Second, do you watch Glee? I LOVE GLEE but that's beside the point. No it is my point. Glee is a hundred times better than American Idol and its a scripted show. A real television show. I am over "real people" trying to win the heart of America. I rather just have Rachel Berry annoy the heck out of me and root for her because she's the underdog and you root for the underdog. I want go back to connecting with characters again instead of connecting with people who are trying to be characters. (Another post in the making).

Back to Ellen, isn't your main job a television host where you interview people. I think it would be awkward for a cast member of Glee to be on your show now, don't you? Oh yeah, you told someone they couldn't sing, and that they should be on our show.... awkward.

Glee is awesome, Idol sucks and Ellen should stick to her tv show. I can't have too many people on too many shows. I should only see you once during the week, on one show. Are you listening Seacrest?

John Mayer's a Pig!

So yesterday I briefly heard about the "John Mayer" incident by reading tweets and quickly scrolling through Perez Hilton. It was not until 5 minutes ago I got the gist of everything. Yesterday I was under the impression he used the N-word. I don't say that lightly especially being a young woman of color but it's sadly nothing new. The word is painful no matter who is saying it or what kind of "context" it is used in. It was meant for hate, it is hate, and it can not and will not ever be changed into something positive. Do I think everyone who uses the word all over the place has those intentions behind it, no. I think its just ignorance. Ignorance in the sense of lack of knowledge, what ignorance really stands for. People still continue to use that word do lack the lack the knowledge of how much it hurts. People who use that word knowing how it affects people do so because they want to and are knowledgeable of their actions and that is just whole other story that we all know.

With that said, I was just under the impression from the little tidbits I read about it. John Mayer used the N-word in an interview, John Mayer feels sorry, John Mayer lacks knowledge, John Mayer is a poser and a douche we always knew that but now its kind of surfacing to light. Now after reading an article that quotes exactly what he said, it doesn't kinda surfaces to light, it's out there, you're exposed as the pig that you are John Mayer on so many levels.

I read a great article on Jezebel.com titled "It's Impossible To Have "A Benetton Heart" And A "White Supremacist Dick"" that goes into detail about Mayer's quotes, contradictions, and stupidity. I have to say that I am amaze on how much of a douche this man is. Honestly, to call him a douche is not even enough, especially the fact is that he knows that he is one and claims it and loves it. Even to call him a pig isn't good enough because pigs are supposed to be intelligent, right?

So what am I so mad about. The use of the N-word, the degrading of black women, and women in general because not only does he degrades black women particularly a black actress, Kerry Washington (does she even know him?) but all women in the same breathe. Please John Mayer, explain this "white-girl crazy"? He also talks ill about his ex-girlfriends Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston. What did you women see in this man? What does anyone see in this man? How easy could it be to say "No I have never dated a black woman before, I am not interested." It's totally okay, that's why it's called attraction. Most people have attractions for many reasons, sadly race has a lot to do with it for the wrong reasons. But that is honest, and so be you. No one would have been mad at you. Many would have disagreed but would have moved on.

I am not going to go into the usage of the N-word and having a special edition "hood" card because I don't even think he knows what he is talking about. He grew up in Connecticut for crying out loud. I don't know how he could relate to anything he was trying to relate to. I know, I can't. I grew up in Long Island, New York. Not all black people have this mysterious "hood" card. Is it a library card?

Bottom line is that he did apologize and I think he whole hearty sees that he is a jerk. He just claims that now he just wants to play his guitar. Honestly, I won't be listening. Why, because you are a walking contradiction like you said. How can you have songs like (my two former favorites) "Waiting" and "Say"? It just doesn't make sense.

The one thing that he said that made complete sense out of this whole debacle was:

Today is the anniversary of some important day in Iran... Look it up. It's serious stuff what is happening over there. Not only are they being subjected to shut up or die with their government but there is a huge movement of nuclear updates and advancements that aren't in the United States hands. There in the opposing side.

I personally am not an advocate of war. I mean as an America, we are born with freedoms, and yes I do cherish them because I've been to other countries and seen what other people have to go through and think " how would I deal with this on a normal basis". I mean you wouldn't, and fortunately enough for us we don't have to. With that said, how much more lives are we going to kill and destroy before we all get on board on this "freedom" and "peace" train.

It's been a decade for some and a few years for others the day the United States truly took off their blinders and realized the world was not safe anymore. The world had changed, the world was different, the world was becoming something of a movie. September 11th was epic. It was a moment in time that will never be forgotten but also the awakening of a new era. A society scared of white dust that could cause bodily harm, a society which feared foreigners from the middle east, a society that discriminated against the islamic religion, a society that became more jaded by the news and media and allowed the news and media to interpret, represent and affect the way they thought, lived and acted.

I feel for what our countries has gone through but am glad we have finally come out of the dark ages and realized we are in trouble. As a nation we have to continue to be strong because that's all we have. But as a family and just a small branch of this great planet, we call earth we are barely hanging on...

The end of days are near, but not because the movie 2012 says it is. The end is near not because some famous psychic or the Aztec nation predicted it. It's near because we are allowing it to come faster than it should. The lord ultimately decides when he will call upon all of us to choose a side and create our destinies, until than we have to live through and try and keep this wound that has just erupted under control. Let's bandage this "hate" that has caused all these domino effects to become reality.

Just yesterday an earthquake in Chicago occurred. Yes, an earthquake in chicago.. There are two plates that are in the vincity of where it happened, and scientist have all explained the reasoning for why the earth moved and all statistics and analysis have been made. But, do we believe it's all science or is it fate?

I'm not going to force religion on this topic or open up any worms on this issue. But you have to think why did a book that was written millions of years ago describe the events that are occurring now, and future. If your not a believer than you can stick to your scientist analysis and go by all the theories but even with those the results are still the same.

With all the events that have occurred starting with 9-1-1 you can't help but retract and think all the events that have occurred have led to these incidents that are occuring now. War in the middle east, great disasters; earthquakes, fire outbreaks, snowstorms, hurricanes, and the great problem of global warming. And, the one that I feel is coming a great leader who will manipulate and convince millions to follow him.

(And no I don't think it's obama "the man of many nations"...)

So, is the world coming to end, are the lyrics from REM becoming a reality? Not sure, perhaps, and maybe it will happen like the movie or song says. But what I do know now, is we have to start working as a team to become one. And going green will not just cut it out.

Until we get all this war crap in control, I think we are doomed for what is said and written in that great book. Hopefully we will all disappear into a great mist of marshmallow clouds and be able to laugh about all of this one day.

Celebrity Fit Club, my reality fix..

Celebrity Fit Club

So like every other American and hell, every person in this world, I have my guilty pleasure. So what is it you may ask? VH1 people, and I’m obsessed with all their reality shows except for the mtv related ones. Yes the networks are linked there practically the same station but Vh1 is like the adult preferred network. Not as sleazy, not as Jersey Shoreish. (Had to throw that show in there) And just a quick side note, why all the obsession and talk about a show about nothing? Well ultimately all these shows have a premise were you follow an American idol star trying to rebuild her life, a group of adolescents trying to say their good parents when their still in high school, and than of course the infamous dating shows.
Okay, so going back to the topic of this all. Celebrity Fit Club people! This show has been around for a couple of years, hell maybe even longer. And the show is supposed to bring celebrities back into shape. It gives other people like me feel almost like these celebrities are human so you almost end up liking someone you felt was “celebrity” stature.
In this season we have K-Fed. Who is K-Fed? Have you been living under a rock? He is the ex-husband of the pop princess herself, Ms. Britney Spears. He is huge people. And it’s funny because his persona is him being a bum, not having a job, marrying a pop star for her money, and now he earns an allowance from her and has no job! And did I mention, he’s huge.
Nonetheless in the first episode he shows his true colors, not helping fellow teammates finish a challenge because he’s too tired, and after seeing his ex fall down he says, “ehhh… if she was hurt, I’d care”… Whoa that shows a lot of character especially since that women who he was talking about is the mother of his children. Yes, children, not child, not kid, but children…

Okay so like I love Ray J and I love New York, and I don’t know what other I love you shows they are, and Celebrity Rehab shows, I’m hooked once again.

Damn you reality TV.

I think there are certain things that some women can just not resist in a man. The ultimate thing a woman can not seem resist is a man in a uniform. I believe it is the universal calling. Women like men who dress up, especially a man who to wear a uniform because it is their duty to look good in it. I mean not shabby not like a piece of eye candy. It's a requirement. I'm pretty sure you can't be a sailor in a stained suit, I'm sure you would have to run laps or something.

However, the one thing I can not resist is a man with good-looking eyebrows. Not just any ordinary clean-cut eyebrows. I mean these eyebrows have to be INTENSE. I noticed the eyebrows that I happen to like are those really intense looking eyebrows on actors.

So I have come to the conclusion that I like men with intense eyebrows who might just end up chopping me up, drinking my blood, slicing my head open, or putting a Vulcan grip on me. Great.

American Idol: Hollywood Week, Last Week. The End.

So like I promised, I was not going to watch American Idol anymore. I lied, but not completely. I saw the first 20 minutes of it, got bored and then quit indefinitely. I can't put my finger on what made me turn it off but I decided enough was enough.

It wasn't Ellen, although I still have no idea why she is on there. Yes, I like her show. Yes, I think she's funny. No, I don't think she has anything to do with music except be a fan of music. I'm a fan of music, I should be a judge! However, I do see the connection that she is a performer and she gave great advice for that, but I just wasn't digging it.

The only part that I really liked was Andrew Garcia. What ruined it was Kara "a-ha" moment realising what he was singing. Like you have a job in music industry, right? You worked with that woman, right? You should know this, RIGHT? Then I turned it off. No, I turned it off right after the girl from Tennessee who never been on an "aeroplane" killed her audition. Poor girl :(.

Then I was done. I think it could of been a lot of factors that led me to this decision to break up with Idol. I think the icing on the cake was hearing the possibility of Howard Stern replacing Simon. Now I just think Simon Fuller doesn't care anymore.

It's been nice knowing Idol. I am sure something new will come along soon and then I will get bored with it as well.

Grammy's in Review

The 52nd Annual Grammy's were on this past Sunday.I, personally, was confused because I thought it was also Superbowl Sunday. However common sense (along with a friend) got through to me and was like " Duh, you can't have Superbowl Sunday, Grammy night and Justin Timberlake's birthday all on the same day." Silly me.

So I sat and watched mostly of the show. Omitting of course Taylor Swift's performance. Best quote: " Taylor Swift has never met a note she liked."- Michael Buckley (@buckhollywood). So true. Back to the Grammy's and what I liked and just didn't plainly understand about them this year. The most common theme this year was "let's out do everyone and ourselves." When I mean everyone I mean Lady Gaga. Let's be honest, she in nature is over the top and I believe everyone got the memo and was like we need to take this chick down!

Lady Gaga. The performance was weird (like her) but tamed and appropriate compared to everyone elses. I did enjoy it, well the end of it more so with Elton John. What I didn't understand was why Elijah Kelley (aka Seaweed Stubbs from Hairspray-2007) was the weird MC. Do they know each other? What was the point? And why wasn't he singing because he is a really good singer. So that was... weird.

Beyonce. I was able to catch a little bit of the 60 minutes interview with her before the show because I was hoping that it was on earlier (nope). She was quite adorable when she was a little girl and she seems very humble. She received extra kudos for being fierce. The performance. Not one of my favorite songs of hers, I still have the Howard Stern thing stuck in my head.

However one of my favorite performances of that song vocally. Personally I think she could have done without all those body guards pointless people and just sit and sing. Great homage to Alanis Morrisette too. Totally unexpected.

MJ tribute. I love that song, I loved the way that they did the film in the movie. Did not go to Target to get the 3D glasses and my head and eyes regret it. The only person out in the audience who looked like they were really enjoying the performance, you know with that 3D glasses "in awe" face was Beyonce. Everyone else was like stone face weird-looking. The best way I could describe it :-/. Great singers and usually not a huge fan of Carrie Underwood but she definitely brought it!

Black Eyed Peas. Too much, too much, TOO MUCH, yet fun. They have been consistent with their background performances though with the "over-the-top" costumes and stuff.

Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift in general... Oh gosh. I think she is what I thought of Britney Spears back in the day. I feel bad for Britney now and I route her on because when you look at what she to be and now what she has become you are like "What happened?" and want to give her a hug. Taylor not so much. Yes she's grounded and her songs are catchy because they play it five million times on the radio but she's so boring and not that unique. YAWN. Maybe I have this personal vendetta against her for the Joe Jonas thing. I personally believed she hung up the phone on him. This is what I think about daily as a graduate student. Daily.

P!nk. Impressive. It was impressive she didn't fall or get electrocuted. Impressive just in general because although it just looks like she's just chilling in a stork sheet thing she's still singing... LIVE. I always enjoyed P!nk. I just miss her pink hair. Couldn't the hammock been pink. Just saying.

Recording Academy President. I think every other year when you speak, you annoy me. Especially this year. I love, love, love it when you speak about preserving music and fine art education, museums and how the industry is moving forward. That's wonderful, that's inspiring and thats what fans and people who are aspiring performers want to hear. They want to feel that connection from the big wigs, to the artist, to the consumer. HOWEVER, I don't want to hear that the industry is suffering from illegal downloads due to the recession. That I'm sorry these musicians, yes, who are passionate about their music, who also get endorsements from other means are "suffering". The reason why it wasn't genuine is because it came from you and not from them. Yes, legally buy music because that's something that someone wrote, produced, played an instrument on. That is their craft and we should support it. But no, I'm not going to sit there and have you tell me, a really poor college student that life is rough for you too.

With that said... Best moments and best performances of the night:

Jonas Brothers. Joe looked amazing of course. With his glasses and his little facial hair. He's like a man now. Nice.

Green Day. I am really interested on seeing the musical. I think it was nicely done.

Award season is coming to an end. Next is the Oscars. Maybe Paula will post something on the Superbowl because heck I think Justin Timberlake's birthday is like a national holiday. Silly fact: Two years ago I actually won a prize pack on the radio for Justin Timberlake's birthday :). So yeah, I acknowledge his birthday.

TV last night

I usually get out of work at 6:30pm and have a ridiculous commute home because it's towards the end of rush hour in the bay area. However yesterday I left about 15 minutes late because it was a rough session. As I am about to pull off on to a storm of unnecessary traffic I realize, that this is the Dallas audition of American Idol and Joe Jonas is the guest judge. Panic ensues and I beg to get home in time while I am moving 5 mph and the Prius in front of me lets everyone and their mother cut them off.

However I made it right at the stroke of 8pm and rushed into the kitchen, turned on the television and who do I see..... Doogie Houser! WHAT! Don't get me wrong I love me some Neil Patrick Harris but this is not what I wanted. This is not what I rushed home to see. I will give him credit he was a great guest judge from the little that I actually paid attention to but still, where is my Joe Jonas! It seems like 45 minutes later, he shows up. And it was very short and boring. Heart is crushed, ego is deflated and now I am just left being a pathetic 20 something year old who rushed home from work to watch 15 minutes of a Jonas Brother, It's a harsh reality.

I mean they show HOURS of American Idol on Fox like every year and you're going to tell me that you are going show like 15 minutes of a part that I actually wanted to see! I mean where are the crazy people? Was Dallas not crazy enough for you? No disrespect to Dallas, but there are crazy people everywhere. It's just a fact.

This episode marked my last time that I will watch American Idol until the finale. However, I think I may watch Hollywood week because I want to see how Ellen mixes in but most likely not. Its a sad realization but one I must live with.

Movie review "The Lovely Bones"

Lovely Bones

I watched lovely bones a few weeks ago and I want to say, it was amazing!The story is greatly told I have yet to read the book but after watching this movie I feel that it will be the next step. The characters were very well-developed and the film was also very well paced. I love how Peter Jackson did not use imagery to show her death but only made you feel uncomfortable of knowing what was about to happen. He forced you to become the character and become scared with her. Few directors are able to tell without showing and he did this precisely. And unlike alot of other high profiled directors he told the story without interruption or exaggeration in a mere hour and half. You weren't restless your in seats for hours upon end waiting for the credits. He left you feeling satisfied and enlightened.

Something that excited me about this film was seeing the trailer and the great imagery waiting for my eyes to behold it's glory. They were amazing! Not only has he worked with great visual effect companies as Weta, a New Zealand based company but he was able to follow through again with this film. The in-between is gorgeous. It is vivid, and so real that you feel almost compelled to become the character so you can reach this point in the film.

Nonetheless, I give this movie a stamp of approval. If your into films that teaches you to let go of grudges, and you need inspiration in death, watch it. It will do that for you.

Don't you just hate to start a project and not finish it. Well that's my whole life, but this, this blog is a keeper. It's not going anywhere. Times have been hectic personally and with the weather being so lousy it doesn't help. How's the weather in your neck of the woods? Lousy too?

But we will be having some blog posts coming soon... I promise at least three. So hold on tight!

67th Annual Golden Globes

So all day yesterday I was determined to watch the 67th Annual Golden Globes. A tradition I have mostly kept ever since I was able to comprehend what they really were. I even stuck through and watched when no one was there during the writer's strike which was not as painful as watching the People's Choice awards the same year. Sorry Queen Latifah but sometimes its good just to say no!

So with some protest to the members of my household we watched the show in its entirety, including the mess of the pre-show that NBC had on with that dude from one of those shows and Nick Lachey's girlfriend. It was torture to watch but the worst out of all of it is that why couldn't the people at The Beverly Hills Hilton at least have a tarp outside for the rain. A couple sheets of plastic, come on! And I'm pretty sure that they could have found ways to recycle it. It's not surprise, it does rain in LA. Be prepared next year!

So I would hate to bore anyone with my rendition of the ceremony because there are 5 million other sites doing so but I would just like to chime in a bit on my best parts, worst parts and why I still don't like James Cameron. Yeah I said it!

The Best Parts:

Right off the bat Mo'nique winning for Best Supporting Actress. I have not seen Precious yet, I really want to but I am a crier, a loud one and I feel like I don't want to embarrass myself in public. From what I heard and the clips that I seen I don't think that anyone would be able to leave that film in one piece. Her speech was beautiful and genuine and greatly deserved! Bravo!

Second part.... GLEE! That's my show! I love everything about it and I love how they got the recognition that it did. It's an awesome show and truly hilarious. And its great to see a show about young people win an award. Super!

Third part- Dexter's Michael C. Hall winning and John Lithgow. I'm super excited because I just started watching Dexter before Christmas and fell in love and most importantly Michael C. Hall is a genius. John Lithgow was as creepy as Dexter and it was nicely done. Can't wait for season 5.

By far my favorite part of the show..... The Hangover winning for Best Comedy.

Genius! Yeah, I will admit I am not crazy over The Hangover like most people I know. It's not apart of my vernacular and I don't have a crazy shenanigans nor do I aspire to but credit has to be given when credit was due. It was a funny movie and kudos. But seriously Mike Tyson up there on the stage accepting an award for a movie is truly EPIC!

Other highlights: Meryl Streep, UP and Drew Barrymore winning. :)

Lowlights:

Chloe whatever her last name, her dress, her speech about her dress, and her in general.

Yeah I probably would have been upset too and if I was the designer I probably would have passed out but seriously lets calm down a bit. You're an actress. Act like you're cool with it and then unleash all heck out backstage. I'm sure that's what you do on your show, that I unfortunately don't watch. But from what I gather from it your character has to act like she is cool with her husband having two other wives right? So pretend like your character! It will be okay :)

True Blood not winning anything :( Boo. Well yeah, this season was okay compared to last. But whats so great about Mad Men? I will answer that soon, It's queued up on my Netflix.

Poor Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I recently watched (500) Days of Summer and it seriously messed me up badly. For anyone who hasn't seen it, it probably won't have the same effect on you. I'm just weird and pathetic. But it was a great movie and he was wonderful in it. I hope he at least gets nominated for an Oscar. If you haven't seen the movie go watch it!

Lastly! James "I'm going to quote a line from my movie even if its my own made up language" Cameron. I did not see Avatar. I really have no desire to see Avatar, just like I had no desire to see Titanic. I was actually forced to see it when it came out on VHS (two VHS tapes I might add) by my best friend and as soon as it was popped into the VCR I was planning for it to sink from the get-go. But don't get me wrong, I liked Terminator and Terminator 2.

James Cameron just bugs me and Avatar to me is like Titanic all over again just in space or whatever planet or year it is in. Seriously when they were playing the theme I thought it was Celine Dion but then I realized Leona Lewis was there and I put two and two together. But seriously sounded like My Heart Will Go On.... gosh James "quote a line" Cameron. Was he all like "I'll be back" back in the day?? If I was coherent back then I think I would have been more furious than I am now.

So that's how I spent my Sunday evening. And since the awards were simultaneously with the east coast, it was super early and I watched Good Burger on Nickelodeon. Remember when kid shows and movies were good?? Not saying that Good Burger was award worthy but certainly better than Hannah Montana! Just saying!

So American Idol is back! I usually have a tendency to get bored with it but I do love the auditions. But this year its different. Paula's gone, Simon is signing off after this season and honestly I don't know how long the shelf life will be after he's gone. But honestly I don't care about all that stuff. I care about Joe Jonas being a guest judge on the Dallas auditions (more on my Jonas obsession later). That's all I care about and I'm not ashamed to say it.

I did not watch Tuesdays nights auditions in its entirety but last night I did. And you know what won my heart....

Best part of the show last night is that Simon asked what the name of the song was. If this guy hasn't done it already he needs to copy right it. So far, so good. We will see if I will watch it after the Joe Jonas episode, likelihood is that I will. Come on it's on like everyday for the next 4 months or so!

So this year I pledge to lose weight!

Over millions, upon millions have these words falling from their mouths at the crack of midnight on new years eve. Perhaps not exactly at the turn of the hour, minute or second. But soon after they realized they have just made out with some complete stranger, have the essence of "barf" breathe in their mouths, and have hugged several toilets before their journey of passing out, they than can say I think my new year's resolution is......

So unlike every American I decided to start loosing weight before the new year, Dec 29 to be exact. I figured hey why not get a head start to snatch all those "Fresh" veggies, and salads that we all crave and loose the fat. Actually after watching myself slowing but surely increase the numbers on my white platinum scale that we have on our shiny metallic tile, I began to see my eyes bulge in fear almost terror, of knowing the inevitable was happening. My wedding dress was not going to fit.

Would it be possible to unleash all the buttons with just the inch or release of breathing. Would it be possible to not breathe for over an hour? I guess that's not really possible so I decided to go on my journey of not eating carbs. Some would think this is almost barbaric, a tragedy, like death, how could you do this to your body, what are you thinking type of event.... Well I did. For a week and half I've been doing low carb, no more than 20 grams a day.. up until today.

The day started off normal, wake up, get a shower, watch a little Ellen, do a little jig, and go to the gym, to work, etc... So today was my day off, I slept a little longer, and lurked around my apartment until the hunger in my stomach told me I NEEDED CARBS...With this feeling, images of burgers, french fries, candy, cake, potatoes, mashed potatoes, twice baked potatoes, did I mention cake? O yes, milk shakes, and these lovely things from GOD called Mocha shakes from a coffee shop Port City Java, and along with all these images came in and out image of the greatest chicken sandwich you can think of. Chick-fil-a. Why was it so great, it's rich natured white breasted chicken drenched in oil with the hint of seasoning, caressed into a buttery succulent bun that is adored with a simplistic pickle that cradles all these flavors into one, and not only do you get such of an array of flavors waiting to jump into your mouth, you can also have the great feeling of a waffle fry.

My New Year's resolution has been broken, years of tradition gone to waste. Now what.. What can I show for myself? Well, those 9 pounds I lost will probably come rushing back into my waist line and that glorious scale that is my bathroom. And now, I feel terrible.

My stomach feels like it's going to explode with the thought of anything coming near it. My mouth is dry thirsting for water because of the amount of sugars that hit it were so unbearable it doesn't know whether to salivate or dehydrate itself. Not only does my stomach hurt, I'd like to vomit all this crap up but unfortunately that would classify my eating habits as a medial condition. So for now,I'll wallow in my depressed state of mind of how eating away your new year's resolution is not worth it.

When you get those cravings and all those glorious pictures of everything you "think" you want and can't have...read my post and it'll be your saviour of not breaking your new year's resolution. Now I have to start all over again, and drain my body of the 100 grams I had within a lunch period. Not fun. Don't try it, and stay with your program.

Bloggin mania! To be a blogger what exactly does that make you?

So now I’ve entered this new world of creativity and diverse intelligence. The ability to throw your ideas and not be persecuted for your ideals or defenses. I think this outlet is ideal for everyone and how great would it be if you could just blog out a problem instead of using mass destruction! How about it world, let’s use our fingers put them o so gently on that keyboard that has accumulated dust, french fries residue, nail chippings, and other food and drink particle stains on it, and I don’t know, use it. I think we should all devote a minute of our day to express the way we feel in today’s tainted and jaded world. What makes a celebrity, a celebrity, why can’t a nurse, doctor, or even an “educator” be a celebrity? Are their lives not as interesting or can’t be as interesting as Paris Hilton the social élite? Or even the musically inclined Mariah Carey’s wos of speak while drunk. Perhaps this is a new invention, make the unheard heard, and to make the unseen seen, and to let the world know there are people behind the words, and unfortunately words to hurt, words can change a village, and words aren’t from venus or mars, there from you. So why not express use our freedom of speech and attack the hate, the filth, the evil, and denounce all of it with pride, freedom and peace. Maybe we can move forward and create a wonderful thing.

So probably not, and it probably won’t catch on, unfortunately. Too bad you can’t make a peace inspired sex video, I’m sure than peace would catch on. Maybe we can cast, all the so called celebrities who have their own in it, fighting crime and proclaiming peace and that might give us all an edge.

Greetings! This is the first blog post EVER and its EPIC!

My comrade Paula and I will like to welcome you to our blog. We are extremely new to this and very excited at the same time. We have been talking about this for a long time and now it's finally a reality. We are two creative young women with really BIG ideas with A LOT to say. If we continued to contain all of this information any longer then our heads would have simply exploded and that would have been extremely messy. So blogging it is!

So are we blog worthy?? Well let's wait and see. What you'll find on here is our spin on pop culture, life and a lot of laugh out loud moments. Also Paula, is super creative and she sells her art. More deets later!

Here is a brief skinny on us! We will get more acquainted over our epic journey of bloghood.

I- Jessica am a graduate student studying to be a school psychologist. Currently I work with children with special needs doing play based therapy. I love my job and working with children mostly because makes up a great excuse for why I still watch the Disney Channel and why the Jonas Brothers are my favorite band. Best. Cover. Up. Ever.Aside from working and going to school which basically equals no life as you can tell, I love anything pop culture: movies, television, music, art, anything. I like to twitter (@JesRsica ) especially about my traffic mishaps. I live in the bay area and it happens to be the worse traffic I have ever experienced in my life. But I don't twitter while driving because thats a huge traffic mishap, right? :). I'm super excited to blog because I feel like 140 characters just doesn't capture the whole je ne sais quoi of it all. I'm super excited for spell check too, whoo hoo! Let's get this party going!

So that's the skinny on us. Let's see I was born in Rhode island, this far lil bit of space we call a state on the eastern boarder of the united states! It's a great little state you may want to catch it before it falls into the ocean by 2012. No, just kidding, but if it were going to happen it's epic size of being so tiny and almost forgettable would get us Rhode islanders into the ocean. Nuff about that terrible number, if your from Rhode island you are classified as a yankee, what the hell is that? Is that a southerner's term for racists? Hmmm..

Until I moved to this small town in which I call wilmington north bore of Carolina, I never heard that term before. Hell, I live in the most southern state that we call the sunshine state, yes people I have said it. The glorious, Disney Ridden, suntan nation, fake boob capital, diverse culture pot that melts with the Cubans, the Asians, and even the haitian persuasion which is FLORIDA.

This place that I described above is "Home". So home is really where I grew up, or where my family is? This is a confusing and touchy topic because well my parents now live in Greenville, south Carolina. A small town added to the most boring towns in America I might add. So I guess home is there too.

Well, I grew up in Florida. I've lived everywhere you can think of up and down the east coast, and through all the traveling back and forth and the miles added to my vehicle, I met my good friend Jessica.

Spunky, artistic and verbal, she is a winner people. She'll guide you through this great journey of bloggin through her wit, her comedy and definitely sarcasm of a personality. Not only will you begin to fall in love with her childlike humor and interest, I think you'll feel like you were deprived of not knowing such "punkie" charisma which she can shower through her words and feelings. It's going to be a roller coaster of up's and downs, and sometimes shouting matches but it will definitely meet all your expectations of entertaing this crazy world.
